Welcome to the most beautiful handmade pottery made in Horezu, Romania by talented local artisans. Located in south of Romania, Horezu city is famous for the unique traditional ceramics. Preserving the original techniques dating prehistoric time, the local artisans create today refined and unique handcrafted pottery.
The potters take the clay from natural deposits and process it manually in all stages. The colors and decorations represent traditional Romanian folk designs. For all its world wide recognition, Horezu pottery was added in December 2012 to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
Do not believe me and have a look yourself. 😊 Here are some of my favorite pieces after my visit in late May 2019.
What do you think of this remarkable handmade Horezu pottery made in Romania? I must admit that I could not resist to leave without some beautiful soup souvenirs from there.
